I am a student at the University of Travnik, Faculty of Technical Studies, majoring in “Textile Engineering and Design”. I graduated from the High School \u201cfor Textiles, Leather and Design\u201d in Sarajevo, with the Major: \u201cTextile Designer\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My interest in art has appeared since my early childhood. My first works began when I was about 15 years old as part of a team \u201cKultura Ljepote\u201d Sarajevo (Eng. Culture of Beauty). Through work with the amazing team, I have gained new experiences in the form of designing for scenography and costume design for various music videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason why I got involved in the \u201cgreen design event” project is my realization that the world is quickly heading towards a climate disaster, scientists warn that the catastrophic consequences of climate change will affect almost our entire planet in the coming years. Change must start from each of us. Unfortunately, we cannot stop some environmental changes, but we can slow them down with our actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Joining in on the fun with the green design foundation, doing this green fashion show is also a next step from my creativity, and what makes me happy is that my creativity is an example that everyone can and should be creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the fashion show is to show people the possibility of textile recycling through a few creations. That with a little idea and imagination old clothes can get a new vibe, with a little effort we can get a completely new and interesting outfit from a few pieces of old clothes, and thus benefit the preservation of the planet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With a little bit of creativity, we can do good for the health of our planet, and look amazing while doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters of the environment, because it faces major problems, one of the problems being pesticides used in cotton production as well as major pollution caused by dyeing chemicals that pollute rivers in cities where textile factories are located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 At the same time, employees also get sick because they work near such chemicals. Today, almost every news portal writes about microplastics in the oceans, and a large part of it comes from washing clothes made of synthetic fibers such as polyester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem with fast fashion brands is still the fact that it is fast fashion, cheap pieces of clothing that someone on the other side of the world sews for very little money, while the pieces themselves last a very short time because the brand owners want you to buy a new one in a few months. Then there is the problem of the accumulation of unsold clothes that are burned. Consumers who buy fast fashion for little money are supporting environmental pollution by throwing away those clothes. I, as a fashion designer, and all of us who think about both people and the environment, do not look at fashion as a luxury that should be achieved at any cost, but as a humane and emotional right.
