Every time we think about Green Design, Sustainable Architecture and common issues reminds us of the popular SF movie from ’80s “Back to the Future”.
Because, for us, it’s a constant rewind and forward on going process of research, attempts for innovations, and struggle with tempts to implement it in to the project. On one hand advance technologies on another hand well known ancient principles of physics and common sciences. We dig in the past with wish to find answers to be used and applied in a new form as an achievement in the future. But at least near future in many cases remind less attractive as we face the reality of present time. Lack of understanding and assumptions based on ignorance of client, expensive materials and equipment that doesn’t fit in to project budget, unfamiliar or absolutely new and unexplored field for local construction company, unclear and not encouraging and obligatory legislative are just some of many obstacles when you are about to think green and would like to implement to the project some of existing or try to even invent new principles in order to improve performances and quality, lower maintenance costs and maximize comfort for future beneficiaries. One have much to consider when designing and building a new energy efficient house, and it can be a challenge. Are we ready, are we well trained or prepared enough and why we have to do it when most of others do not follow? What did we achieved and where had we search for answers and solutions demonstrated on some of our projects of so called classical and prefabricated constructions. So we would like to present retrospective of our productive professional journey from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Switzerland. |
