Biophilic design & Architecture – examples in practice
It shows 4 architectural projects in residential construction, two realizations in Germany and two competition works in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All projects included the use of green areas to the greatest extent possible. Especially on roof surfaces, open spaces around buildings and façade structures. Two realizations are collective housing facilities, designed and built in the Baden-Wurrtemberg region in the vicinity of the city of Heilbronn. It is a complex interpolation of objects into the existing urban tissue, and for these reasons they are very important from several aspects of observation. The other two are tender works, invitational tenders in the city of Sarajevo and Visoko. Both locations are of great importance and represent benchmarks within their respective environments. The location of the former nursing home in Sarajevo in the settlement of Nedžarići is today the intersection of the movement of people from different directions, it represents a new city center. As such, it is looking for a solution that will sublimate all needs, give a completely new open public space and become a gathering place for citizens. The second location is in the town of Visoko, located at the confluence of the Fojnica River into Bosnia, surrounded by greenery, water and a hilly environment. As such, it was looking for a concept that would offer open, green areas for socialization of citizens not only of this complex, but also of the city of Visoko.
